THE SQUARE
The structure of the small Catalan towns could be defined as squares and streets that connect the different public buildings needed to support live style: Church, City Hall, Jail, Market …

From this general framework, the buildings just finish to fill the squares and streets. So, in a sunny place, houses make shade to the public spaces, and take their place to create barriers against high winds from the west.

The square in a town defines an important space and becomes a meeting place for the inhabitants, where festivals are held, people play cards… it’s used as a meeting point.
